North West of the Islands
The north-west of Malta offers a different experience from the central and southern parts of the island, with a focus on coastal landscapes, open views, and sandy beaches.
Mellieha is one of the main towns in the area, known for its elevated position and panoramic views overlooking the surrounding coastline, including the islands of Gozo and Comino.
St Paul’s Bay and Qawra are popular seaside areas combining local history with a variety of restaurants, cafés, and waterfront promenades.
The region is also home to some of Malta’s most well-known beaches. Mellieha Bay is the largest sandy beach on the island, while Paradise Bay and Armier Bay offer smaller and more relaxed seaside locations.
